Frog Eyes

Frogs can have brown, green, silver, red, bronze or even gold eyes. Their pupils even come in different shapes. Some frogs even have triangular or star-shaped pupils!

They look like human pupils.

• Vertical pupils

These let frogs see well in the dark.

• Heart-shaped pupils

Yellow-bellied toads and Oriental fire-bellied toads have heart-shaped pupils.

• Horizontal pupils

These pupils are more commonly seen in frogs that are active during the day.
