The Jungle Book (1967)

The animated movie  "The Jungle Book" tells the story of a little boy named Mowgli. Panther Bagheera finds him all alone in the jungle and takes him to a wolf family. The wolves Akela, Rama and Raksha take care of him and raise him.

When Mowgli is ten years old, the one-eyed tiger Shere Khan returns. He had once killed Mowgli's father and left the boy in the jungle. The friendly brown bear Baloo saves Mowgli from Shere Khan and the insidious snake Kaa.

But the story is far from over. Mowgli meets the elephants Colonel Hathi and Winifred and helps them rescue Hathi Jr. from a pit. Then he is kidnapped by monkeys and taken to their leader orangutan King Louie. Baloo and Bagheera free him, but then Mowgli has to face the fearsome tiger ...

The Jungle Book (2016)

"The Jungle Book" from 2016 is not an animated film, but a mixture of animated film and real recordings by human actors. It is a remake and tells the same story as the first film.

Fun Facts

The first Jungle Book film has been around for a few years. It flickered across the cinema screens in 1967. The new edition of the old film was released in 2016 – almost 50 years later.
